Training Series for Agency Partners and Stewards
Noxious Weeds Identification
9:30 am to 11:30 am at Discovery Park - Seattle
Join Sasha Shaw from King County Noxious Weed Control Program for identification of common and uncommon noxious weeds. Field work includes control strategies of noxious weeds in urban forests and restoration projects. Discovery Park (Seattle) provides a perfect location for classroom and field work. WSDA recertification credits will be granted with successful completion of this training.

Native Plant Identification
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Discovery Park - Seattle
Native plant identification and hands on techniques for planting various stock types. Whether it is for your knowledge or to develop techniques for teaching volunteers, this training will provide both classroom and field work in Discovery Park (Seattle). Arborist certification will be granted with successful completion of this training.

Exploring Effective Techniques for Dealing with Homeless Encampments
9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Tacoma Nature Center
Join Colin DeForrest from the City of Tacoma Homeless Services to explore effective techniques for dealing with homeless encampments; who to call and when to call for assistance. Rick Fuller of the Center for Urban Waters will present effective ways of hazardous waste removal. Kelly Crouch from Crime Free Housing will provide information and examples of crime prevention through environmental design. Both classroom and field work will be included in this training.
