FREE Habitat Steward Orientation
Invasive plant species are threatening the health of our urban forests by outcompeting native trees and undergrowth. Tacoma is in danger of losing 70% of tree canopy in its beautiful parks.
The Green Tacoma Partnership works to educate residents and provide the resources they need to restore forested parks throughout Tacoma. Will you be a part of the solution?
Do you enjoy having forested parks where you can experience nature without leaving the city? Do you want these parks to remain healthy and green for your children? If you're interested in learning how you can be a part of restoring and maintaining forested parks throughout Tacoma, sign up for a FREE Habitat Steward Orientation.
This year's orientation will be Saturday, June 16th from 10:30am - 4:00pm. There is only one orientation per year and space is limited, so sign up now!

Mark Your Calendar: Green Tacoma Day 2012 is Saturday, October 20th!
Last September we had more than 200 volunteers contribute over 800 hours in 12 parks and open spaces to keep them healthy by removing invasive plants and planting native shrubs and trees. This year we hope to get even more people involved by offering a number kid- and family-friendly activities in addition to the traditional restoration work parties. This is going to be big. Will you be a part of Green Tacoma Day this year? Stay tuned for details!
