Training Series for Agency Partners and Habitat Stewards

The Green Tacoma Partnership has created a training series that consists of four trainings to be held in November and December 2011. The trainings are open to City staff, agency partners, and Habitat Stewards. Thanks to Rick Lynch and everyone who made the first training, The 21st Century Volunteer,  a great success. The next two trainings will be held at Discovery Park (Seattle) on December 7, 2011. Join us from 9:30 am to 11:30 am for a training on Noxious Weeds Identification, and from 1 pm to 3 pm for a training on Native Plant Identification . If you are interested in participating please RSVP to Sue Wattier at swattier@tahomaaudubon.org or call 253-686-2873.

*This training series is made possible through a grant from the US Forest Services, Urban and Community Forestry Program.

Green Tacoma Day 2011 was a success!

On September 24th, volunteers joined Green Tacoma Partnership habitat stewards at 12 parks and open spaces to keep them healthy by removing invasive plants and planting native shrubs and trees.  More than 200 people participated for more than 800 volunteer hours.  Thank you to everybody for your help and dedication!
