Help Restore the Forest at Westside Park!
Signup here for the morning team (9am-12pm), the afternoon team (12pm-3pm), or all day!
Volunteers (maybe you?) have worked hard to remove invasive vegetation like English Ivy and Himalayan Blackberry that are crowding out native plants. Now it is time to return and plant native vegetation in place of the invasives. Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust is helping with restoration at Westside Park, the headwaters to Clise Creek, a salmon-bearing Sammamish River tributary.
As always, no experience is necessary, and we’ll have all the gloves, tools, and other materials for you, as well as water and snacks. Please remember to bring your own water bottle to re-fill, and/or a mug for coffee.
Wear sturdy shoes and consider long pants and long sleeves for working in the blackberry. All ages are welcome, although all volunteers under 18 must either be accompanied by an adult or bring a signed waiver (available here).
