Join the Friends of Kiwanis Park in restoring this Lake Washington treasure

Last year restoration work began in this small park on the shores of Lake Washington and there is still plenty of work to be done!  Ivy and blackberry continue to be a nuisance and threaten the health of the urban forest.

We’ll be working from 9 am to 12 pm on each of the following Saturdays:

           March 28        May 30               June 27
           July 25           Aug. 15              Sept 26                                                              Oct 24

Please bring with you any or all of the following:

    Tools: Shears / clippers / shovels / gloves

    Work clothes & good shoes for working in the dirt

    Family, friends and neighbors

    Energy and community spirit

Limited tools will be provided by the Parks Dept. in case you don’t have any, and neighbors will provide hot coffee and cookies.

The events are suitable for adults, teens, and families.  Minors under the age of 14 years must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event. Other minors should be accompanied by an adult, or bring a note of permission from a parent/guardian, or a parent/guardian to sign you in.

Driving Directions to Kiwanis Park from I-405 Southbound: take the NE 124th Street exit (exit 20) and turn right onto NE 124th Street. Turn left onto 100th Avenue NE which becomes 98th Avenue NE which becomes Market Street. Turn right off Market onto 16th Ave. W, then proceed down to 10th St W and turn left. End at 1405 10th Street W, Kirkland.

Driving Directions to Kiwanis Park from I-405 Northbound: take the NE 85th Street exit (exit 18) toward Kirkland and turn slight right onto NE 85th Street / WA-908 which becomes Central Way near the downtown area. At the end of Central Way turn right onto Market Street then left onto 16th Avenue W. Turn left onto 10th Street W. End at 1405 10th Street W, Kirkland.
