Ownership History: For several years, Central Washington University (CWU) was interested in securing Gladmar through either long-term lease or transfer in order to develop a long-term research and education facility.  CLC negotiated a lease for CWU on the property owned by Kittitas County in 2006.

Property Description: There are three channels of the Yakima River that traverse the property.  The island property will be used by CWU as a “living laboratory” to expand natural education opportunities in Kittitas County.

Conservation Values:  The conservation goals for Gladmar Park include increased public access and use of the property to further environmental education for the community.
