CLC was granted a conservation easement on the properties within the bank in 2006 to ensure the protection of the habitat as it is restored.
Property Description: Springbrook Creek Habitat Bank will restore 135 acres within the City of Renton to historic wetland conditions. In addition, WSDOT and the City of Renton are building an interpretive boardwalk trail through the site to educate the public on the benefits of wetlands and the habitat they support.
Conservation Values: The Bank will provide mitigation for highway construction and city development projects prior to the impacts on wetlands and other aquatic resources. It will also increase local habitat diversity and will improve the riparian functions of the land.
