Location: King County, near North Bend

Acreage: 597.00 acres

Ownership History: CLC served as a negotiator in the sale of this property from Crown Lakes, L.L.C. to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources in 2003.

Property Description: This pristine 597 acre parcel of land is situated in the foothills of the western Cascade Mountains.  It forms the far northeastern edge of the Mount Si Natural Resources Conservation Area, which is managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.  The property features three large, deep lakes entirely within its boundaries—South Meandering Corner Lake, Lake Nadeau, and Lake Moolock—that are collectively known as the Crown Lakes.

Conservation Values: Each lake has distinct characteristics: one bordered by steep rock walls, one by meadow banks, and the other by old growth forest.  The land supports unusual plant communities, sensitive plant species, rare wildlife, and incomparable low-impact public use opportunities.  The inclusion of the Crown Lakes property in the Mount Si Natural Resources Conservation Area ensures the protection of this valuable ecological system.
