Ownership History: In 1998, The Land Conservancy purchased the Rice property in West Seattle.  The City of Seattle acquired ownership in 2003 and CLC reserved a conservation easement on the property.

Property Description: The Me-Kwa-Mooks property is located on a steep hillside in West Seattle, adjacent to Me-Kwa-Mooks Park.  From the site, one can view stunning sunsets over Puget Sound with the Olympic Mountains in the distance.

Conservation Values: The 1.8-acre property has second growth native vegetation, providing wildlife habitat and open space in the West Seattle greenbelt.  Its acquisition offers permanent protection of urban open space, natural areas, and wildlife habitat in the City of Seattle.
