Leschi Natural Area (KG28)

KG28

Location: King County, Leschi neighborhood of the City of Seattle

Acreage: 0.50 acres

Ownership History: This undeveloped property was acquired to expand the City of Seattle’s Leschi Natural Area.  After CLC purchased the property in 2001, it was transferred to the Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation.

Property Description: The property is a significant piece of undeveloped land within the Leschi Natural Area.

Conservation Values: The property is an important urban open space, providing habitat for birds, refuge for native plants, extraordinary views, and recreational open space for the neighborhood. The addition of this property significantly expanded park frontage on East Terrace Street and along the Terrace Street stairs, and improved manageability of the park property.
