Location: King County, East Sammamish Plateau
Acreage: 640.00 acres
Ownership History: CLC assisted in the transfer of this land to King County Parks ownership in 1993.
Property Description: Section 36 park is a beautiful property containing pristine wetlands, rolling woods and forest. The northwest corner contains a portion of a critical open water wetland, and the rest of Section 36 drains directly into Patterson Creek.
Conservation Values: As the surrounding area has been developed, refuges have diminished, which makes this property an important habitat for wildlife and waterfowl. The northern half of the property is covered with a 60-year-old hardwood forest containing primarily bigleaf maple and red alder trees, with intermittent Douglas firs and western red cedars.
