Transfer of Development Rights

Cascade Land Conservancy partners with landowners, state and local governments, and other relevant stakeholders to develop Transfer of Development Right (TDR) programs that allow rural landowners to receive compensation for undertaking conservation projects on their property. 

TDR is a conservation tool that compensates landowners for not taking advantage of the development potential on their land.  It redirects that development potential away from farms and forests and into areas more suitable for population growth.
