Cascade Land Conservancy Trail Maintenance Workshop

When: Saturday, September 15th, 10am-2pm

Where: Hazel Wolf Wetlands Preserve, Sammamish, WA

Come learn the technical ins-and-outs of trail maintenance from Bill Brosseau of EarthCorps. Bill will Hazel Wolf Wetlandslead a hands-on session on the importance of trail maintenance in natural areas, trail standards, tool care & use, terminology, safety, and reporting. He’ll also cover drainage issues, side-cutting, brushing, blowdown, trail structures, and signage. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided.  

Who: The training is a benefit opportunity for CLC Land Stewards and Community Trustees.

The training is also open to outside participants.  It is free but outside participants will be asked to commit to attending a volunteer restoration event to apply their new skills to help CLC restore the lands and parks of this region.

Directions to Hazel Wolf Wetlands Preserve: (From I-90)

-          Take Exit 15 (Lake Sammamish State Park) in Issaquah

-          From the off ramp, head north onto 17th Ave NW.  Stay on the main street as it curves east and becomes NW Sammamish Rd.

-          About 2 miles from off ramp, turn left onto E Lake Sammamish Pkwy SE

-          At 2.3 miles from the off ramp, turn right onto SE 43rd Way, which becomes 228th Ave SE

-          Approximately 5.8 miles from off ramp, turn right onto SE 8th St (Skyline HS is on SE corner)

-          Almost 7 miles from off ramp, turn right at the Windsor Greens entrance onto SE Windsor Blvd.

-     Continue past “Dead End” sign and park in the cul-de-sac.  Please do not block the gate and park away from the residences
