Join us for a hike at Gold Creek, one of CLC's conserved lands.  Learn about the conservation work happening along I-90, and enjoy the scenery.  Charlie Raines, our very own Director of Forest Conservation will lead a short hike and talk focused on the local flora and fauna. This is also a chance to learn about becoming a land steward, and get a first hand view of the lands CLC works to conserve.

Note: At this time, online registration has closed.  Please feel free to attend this event regardless; all guests will be asked to sign in upon arrival.

General Event Details:

Please be prepared for weather, and wear sturdy hiking shoes. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen or other personal affects as needed.

Friends and family welcome, though no pets please.

Important: Please arrive before 9:40a.m. The gate that leads to the parking area will only be staffed until 9:40a.m.

9-9:30am: Meet at the trail head; light breakfast refreshments will be provided

10am: 2 mile guided hike begins

Approx 11:30am: Short debrief and social time

This hike will take place on CLC land, and guests do not need a Northwest Forest Pass to park. However, if you arrive late, you will need to park outside the gate and will need a Northwest Forest Pass or day pass to park.

Since the property is closed off by the gate, we will all exit at the same time so we can lock the gate behind us.

Directions:

If you are traveling westbound on I-90, turn right and do NOT go under the freeway

If you are traveling eastbound on I-90 , turn left after you exit and go under the freeway.

Turn right onto a frontage road, Forest Service road #4832 This road parallels I-90.

Drive for about a mile.

Look for a CLC sign and turn left onto a dirt road heading up Gold Creek; travel another .4 mile to a gate which will be on the right. (The public road continues left to the Forest Service parking area for Gold Creek Ponds. We will not be parking, there. If you have reached Gold Creek Ponds you’ve gone too far.)

Turn right at the gate; a CLC volunteer will be there to unlock the gate and guide you in.

After entering through the gate, continue driving through a cabin community to Heli’s Pond, where we will meet. There is a kiosk for Heli’s Pond.  We will park nearby. We will have signs to continue to guide you to the parking area.
