Join Volunteers for a Fun Day of Invasive Weed Removal at Denny Creek
Join us on April 10 from 10am to 1pm
ABOUT THE PROPERTY:
The Cascade Land Conservancy, along with YOU, and many other volunteers will be working to remove English Ivy from much of Denny Creek Preserve to create a more healthy environment for native trees and shrubs. A dense canopy of Western hemlock, big leaf maple, red alder, and Douglas-fir grow on the slopes of the steep ravine near Denny Creek. This rich ecosystem supports a diverse, lush understory of salmonberry, red flowering currant, Indian plum, and sword fern and creates a high quality habitat for wildlife, including eagles that nest nearby.
WHAT TO BRING:
Please remember to dress for the
weather. Suggested Dress: Boots or comfortable
athletic shoes, work clothes, rain gear and appropriate layers.
Volunteers should bring a refillable water bottle. Snacks, drinks,
tools and gloves will be provided.
