Green Tacoma Day

Join Us to Celebrate Green Tacoma Day

November 15, 2008 from 10am to 2pm

About the Day:
Please join us to celebrate the ongoing success of the Green Tacoma  Partnership and to work together to begin restoring Julia’s Gulch, a valuable urban forest recently acquired by the Port of Tacoma and the City of Tacoma. Volunteers with have the opportunity to learn about and participate in the four different phases of urban forest restoration: initial site assessment and planning, invasive species removal, native tree and shrub planting, and monitoring and maintenance. In addition to restoration, volunteers will have plentiful opportunities to explore Julia’s Gulch which was not previously open to the public. The day will close with a hot lunch and a final celebration of the volunteers’ hard work!

What to Bring:
Please dress for the weather and bring rain gear as we will work rain or shine.  Wear work clothes, sturdy shoes and plenty of layers.

Transportation Info:
Due to limited parking we strongly encourage event attendees to carpool.
