Conservation Program

Marsh Family PropertyCascade Land Conservancy conserves land in the central Puget Sound region, including King, Kittitas,  Snohomish, Pierce, and Mason counties. We also have an exciting estuary program working in seven counties in Washington State. Visit Where We Work for more information.

We protect important natural spaces in urban neighborhoods and rural communities, along precious rivers and streams, and across the foothills of the Cascades. These natural lands provide stunning views, numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation as well as critical habitat for endangered fish and wildlife. CLC is also working hard to conserve working farms and forests. Visit Priority Landscapes.

CLC's strategies range from land purchases and donations, to conservation easements and ownership agreements. Our goal is to maximize the ecological value of land while meeting the needs of landowners. Visit How to Conserve Your Land.

CLC uses innovative and creative tools and methods to conserve the region's precious resources. For examples, see our work in  Mitigation Banking and Conservation Development.

Our Work

Cascade Land Conservancy has completed 163 projects since 1989 to conserve over 173,000 acres in our region and has played an important role in thousands more. Our Conservation Team is currently negotiating to protect over 200,000 acres.

All of our Protected Lands have their own story, people, and conservation values. For a map and description of our Protected Lands, visit Where We Work.

Leave a Legacy of Farms and Forest

New tax incentives apply for donated conservation easements. Contact your county conservation director for more information. The new tax incentives are described further on the Land Trust Alliance website.
