Making Our Communities Vibrant and Livable
The Pacific Northwest faces a critical moment in time. In the next 100 years, our population will easily double, adding enough people to populate 6 cities the size of Seattle. These new residents need housing options and, with a limited land base, we have a tremendous challenge ahead of us. We cannot have healthy rural and wild lands without great cities and towns.
To save our forests, farms and wetlands, we must relieve development pressure on these lands by ensuring that our cities are magnets for population growth. The Cascade Land Conservancy is committed to making our communities even greater places to live, work and raise our families.
Creating Healthy Communities
Cascade Land Conservancy specializes in developing flexible, creative solutions that work in Western Washington. We're now expanding this approach to include tools and strategies for creating compact, livable and truly great communities.
Our staff works hard to stay ahead of the curve, keeping abreast of the latest research, trends and techniques from around the country. In partnership with the development community, local jurisdictions and other experts, we develop innovative approaches tailored to the unique needs of our region.
We support local jurisdictions in doing the good planning their communities need to maintain and enhance their quality of life for the future. We work with them to implement the tools and strategies needed to achieve the vision they identify.
