COMMUNITY TRUSTEE
“JOB DESCRIPTION”
FUNCTION
Work with a group of peers from your county to advance Cascade Land Conservancy’s mission at the county-wide, grass-roots level through membership recruitment and outreach; suggestions, feedback, assistance, and project guidance to Conservation Directors; and service as on-the-grounds representatives and contacts for ongoing project stewardship.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Commitment to the vision and mission of Cascade Land Conservancy.
- Will add value to the makeup of the county board of trustees by bringing a set of skills, relationships, and/or underrepresented perspectives to the group.
- Willing to commit time and financial support
BASIC EXPECTATIONS
- Participation in regularly scheduled Trustee meetings.
- Fundraising:
- Contribute at least $250 annually
- Help fill a table at the annual Conservation Awards Breakfast
- Participate in outreach strategy and event planning
- Integrity: hold sensitive information in confidence and avoid conflict of interest consistent with board policy
ADDITIONAL TRUSTEE ROLES
Some optional roles, delegated in coordination with the county board of trustees
- Serve on a subcommittee of the county board of trustees.
- Serve on a committee of the board (Conservation, Administration & Finance, Strategic Planning, Nominating, Development & Outreach). Committee make-up calls for one trustee from each county on each committee.
- Serve as a Site Steward. Adopt a CLC protected site and act as the primary volunteer monitor and liaison.
- Liaison to a specific organization, constituency, or geographic area.
