Community Trustees

In addition to the Board of Directors, CLC relies heavily on the community leadership of a cadre of Community Trustees.  In each county, a volunteer board comprised of 15-20 trustees advances Cascade Land Conservancy’s mission at the grass-roots level.  Each group has three main functions:

Stewardship:  Individual trustees serve as site stewards for protected lands - monitoring the site, mapping out restoration plans, and leading volunteer activities.

Conservation:  Each trustee group provides critical insight and judgment to help steer the conservation program to meet local needs.  Their intimate knowledge of the local landscape hones CLC's strategy to a sharp edge.

Outreach:  Community Trustees are the organization's representatives to the community.  They present information to local governments, businesses, and civic groups, and reach out to the public through community events and membership activities.
