Hayes has played an integral role at the Cascade Land Conservancy since 2004 as the Director of Lands, managing the stewardship of the Conservancy’s easement and fee owned lands.  Originally from Charlotte, NC she first ventured to the northwest during high school for a 6-week backpacking, mountaineering, and rafting adventure through the Rockies and the PNW.  This experience opened her eyes to the natural world and was the first step in getting her to where she is today.  Hayes graduated from Sewanee, a small school in Tennessee, with a BS in Forestry.  From there, she spent several years working as an outdoor and environmental educator in Costa Rica, Maine, the Rockies, and the PNW.  From 2000 to 2002 she worked with EarthCorps learning restoration techniques and volunteer management throughout King County, before taking a little hiatus from the PNW to travel and explore other areas.  After two years living in Teton Valley, Idaho working as the Personnel Coordinator for Wilderness Ventures, Hayes returned to the northwest in November 2004 to join the CLC team. Hayes will take any opportunity to get outside and loves to hike, ski, run, bike and swim.
