Ryan is the Pierce County Conservation Director for the Cascade Land Conservancy and currently serves as an elected commissioner for Metro Parks Tacoma.   Previous to joining the CLC team in April of 2006 Ryan served as chief aide to State Representative Hans Dunshee.  After graduating from the University of Puget Sound with a degree in Politics and Government Ryan joined the AmeriCorps helping to implement the first-in-the-nation “Letter in Community Service” program where high school students can earn their varsity letter for service to their community, much like they do for athletics.  Ryan enjoys volunteering on non-profit boards such as Equal Rights Washington and also hiking the Olympics, sea kayaking and camping.
