Craig M. Benjamin
Craig joined the Cascade Land Conservancy team as a Project Associate on the Cascade Agenda Cities program in June 2008. Craig grew up in Seattle and has always felt strongly about improving the quality of life in the Pacific Northwest. After receiving his B.A. in Public Policy from Washington and Lee University, Craig spent the next five years in Jackson, WY, pursuing his passion for backcountry skiing and the outdoors.
In June 2008 Craig graduated from the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington with a Masters of Public Administration and a Certificate in Environmental Management. While at the Evans School Craig focused his studies on environmental policy and sustainability, and worked to develop a sustainability framework for Seattle's neighborhood plan updates, and helped develop a sustainability plan for the Woodland Park Zoo.
In the Summer of 2007, Craig worked as a Mayor's Office Fellow in the City of Seattle Department of Planning and Development, where he developed a series of recommendations regarding streetscape activation in Center City Seattle. In the Fall of 2007, Craig worked as an Intern in the City of Seattle Office of Policy and Management where he worked to streamline the sidewalk cafe permitting process and provided support to the development of an integrated Public Space plan for Center City Seattle. Craig also serves as the Transportation Guild Coordinator for Sustainable Ballard and plays an active role in the Sustainable Ballard community.
