Partnerships

Cascade Land Conservancy builds on existing partnerships and develops new partnerships with the goal of enhancing effectiveness and engagement. We are proud to have been a part of conservation and community-building in the Puget Sound region for more than 22 years, and a great deal of our success comes from our ability to collaborate with government agencies, tribes, businesses, conservation and art groups, and communities across the region. Our collective vision is grounded in the belief that a broad coalition can achieve fundamental change.

Here are just a few examples of CLC's work with partners.

Green Cities Program – This network that began with Green Seattle and now includes five Green Cities creates public-private partnerships with municipalities to develop community-based stewardship programs for forested parklands and natural areas, and community open spaces. The program connects people to nature and their neighbors.

Cascade Agenda Cities Program – We work closely with 19 Cascade Agenda member cities to advance four priority areas: neighborhood centers, innovative housing, people-friendly streets, and natural spaces. This program recently worked with city staff, council and citizens in Edmonds to pass a Complete Streets ordinance, making sure streets work for all users, whether walking, bicycling, using public transit, or driving.

Community Stewards Program –This program helps CLC engage citizens of our member cities in the public process about key land use and quality of life issues in their communities.

Quality Growth Alliance (QGA) – Also comprised of representatives from Urban Land Institute Seattle, Futurewise, University of Washington, Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC), Master Builders Association and others, the QGA is currently working on projects that will create compact sustainable communities, including a Transit Communities Initiative.
