Qualifications: B.A. degree and/or fundraising certificate and minimum 2 years non-profit experience, fundraising experience strongly preferred. Ability to work collaboratively across several departments in order to support the fund development team and the organization as a whole.

Background:
Cascade Land Conservancy is Washington’s largest land conservation, stewardship and community building organization, currently working in King, Kittitas, Pierce, Mason, and Snohomish counties. It also performs estuary and near shore conservation and stewardship work in other counties on Puget Sound and the Pacific coast. The Conservancy’s mission is to conserve great landscapes and create great communities.
Summary of Position:
The Membership and Communications Coordinator helps to support CLC’s fundraising campaigns and initiatives by coordinating the fulfillment of donations and pledges. They are responsible for meeting membership goals, including solicitation, cultivation and retention. Additionally, a percentage of time is allocated to assist with external communications, corporate sponsorship programs and events.
Specific Duties:
Membership and Sponsor Programs 40% time
· Develop strategies and implement plan to retain, renew and acquire members, securing between $80,000 and $120,000.
· Manage direct mail campaign. Work with internal and external vendors for all donor renewals, including lapsed, renewal and new member acquisition programs.
· Develop and implement moves management plan for stewarding and upgrading members who give $500+; includes working with the Constituent Relationship Management Team to move members to higher levels of giving.
· Manage portfolio of approximately 200 $1,500 and below corporate event sponsors and prospects, securing between $50,000 and $75,000. Work with non-development staff to identify new sponsor prospects and coordinate their outreach to prospects.
· Manage membership budget, ensuring expenses and revenues are within budget.
· Serve as key contact for workplace giving programs, corporate matching gift programs and internet giving programs.
· Ensure that all annual giving and member gifts are entered accurately into the database and acknowledged in an appropriate and timely fashion. Send quarterly pledge reminders to all donors.
· Engage volunteer leaders and non-development staff in membership recruitment.
Communications 25% time
· Manage the production and write content of member/donor outreach materials, including print and electronic newsletters, annual report, brochures and acknowledgment letters.
· Update web site home page content weekly. Manage development and outreach pages of web site.
· Maintain organizational presence on social media sites.
· Support Marketing Director with tasks as assigned.
Events and Administrative Support 35% time
· Provide support for fundraising events, taking on specific tasks as directed by supervisor or VP for Development. Such tasks include communication with guests, production of collateral and assistance in event implementation.
· Data entry as needed.
· Administrative support associated with corporate sponsorships including merging proposals and mailing pledge forms, invoices and acknowledgements.
· Administrative duties as assigned by supervisor or VP of Development.
Required Qualifications:
· B.A. degree and/or fundraising certificate and minimum 2 years non-profit experience, fundraising experience strongly preferred.
· Ability to work collaboratively across several departments in order to support the fund development team and the organization as a whole.
· Strong project management, organizational skills and multi-tasking skills.
· Proven track record in planning and implementing successful direct mail and membership programs.
· Strong donor/member relationship management skills.
· Experience tracking expenses and revenue for a program or project.
· Excellent written and oral communication.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Raiser’s Edge knowledge preferred.
· Web site management experience preferred.
· Ability to organize and manage diverse activities and set priorities.
· Flexible and able to work well under pressure, with limited direct supervision.
· Ability to work some non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends (with comp time).
· Valid, insurable drivers license/record.
