Qualifications: B.A. degree and minimum 5 years non-profit experience, fundraising experience strongly preferred. Ability to work collaboratively across several departments in order to support the fund development team and the organization as a whole.

Background:
Cascade Land Conservancy is Washington’s largest land conservation, stewardship and community building organization, currently working in King, Kittitas, Pierce, Mason, and Snohomish counties. It also performs estuary and near shore conservation and stewardship work in other counties on Puget Sound and the Pacific coast. The Conservancy’s mission is to conserve great landscapes and create great communities.
Summary of Position:
Cascade Land Conservancy’s Donor Relations Director is responsible for developing and implementing donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies and programs for CLC’s Annual Fund. The Director maintains a portfolio of major donors and oversees membership programs, special events and database management.
Specific Duties:
1. Cultivates, solicits and stewards CLC’s Conservation Circle (donors who give $1,000 to $9,999) donor program. Implement strategic moves management to upgrade these donors to $10k+ giving.
2. Develops a planned giving program.
3. Works with VP of Development to advance a major gifts program. Motivates key staff, Board members and other volunteer leaders to connect with new constituencies in the community.
4. Manages membership and donor renewals, including lapsed and new member acquisition programs, special appeals, web and email based programs and workplace giving. Supervises Membership Coordinator to implement direct mail campaigns with internal and external vendors, including writing, design and print production.
5. Supervises the Events Coordinator to maximize effectiveness of annual fundraising events, including an annual breakfast attended by 1,800 or more guests.
6. Supervises the Database Coordinator ensuring gift entry is conducted at the highest standards, along with solid database management.
7. Generates analytical reports and provides general membership and annual giving information on a regular basis to management. Manages annual fund budget. Liaison between Development and Finance team to ensure systems are well integrated.
8. Other duties as assigned by the VP for Development.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and five years or more of successful fundraising experience with progressive professional growth, including significant, demonstrated experience working with major donors and managing direct mail programs.
· Demonstrated ability to meet fundraising goals, with track record of illustrating creativity, excellent budgeting ability and entrepreneurship.
· Proven ability to mentor and provide leadership. Ability to work collaboratively across several departments in order to support the fund development team and the organization as a whole.
· Attention to detail coupled with the ability to organize and manage multiple activities, set priorities and remain flexible under pressure.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Enthusiastic, problem solver.
· Strong computer skills, including experience with database software. Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
· Commitment to Cascade Land Conservancy’s conservation and community building mission.
· Strong project management, organizational skills and multi-tasking skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work some non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends (with comp time).
· Valid, insurable drivers license/record.
